The Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca
The Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca is about an hour and a half drive from San Francisco. It was a perfect place for a staycation for your family! It is easy to go and stay for a weekend. The resort is jam packed with fun and activities for a wide range of kids!
The main attraction is the large indoor water park. I was pleasantly surprised to find not only big, fast water slides but a toddler area for my 2 and 4 year olds to enjoy too! I am sure my 4 year old went on the small slides at least 50 times our first day.
Great Wolf Lodge is more than just a water park though. Attractions include the ropes course, build-a-bear, mini golf, mirror maze, bowling, arcade and the very popular MagiQuest. These activities cost extra. You can buy a package for the best savings starting at $59.99. There are also dining options on site or meal packages to make things easy for you.
If you plan on doing the MagiQuest (highly recommended for kids 6 and up) make sure to start at the beginning of your stay. Kids get a magic wand that really works with items around the lodge. Kids will play an interactive game and earn points and solve mysteries throughout. My kids (2 & 4 years old) didn’t play the quest but thoroughly enjoyed finding the magic around the resort with their wands.
Here are my tips for your stay:
Always included in your stay is unlimited time at the water park, life jackets, towels, wifi and onsite events such as bedtime stories, bingo and yoga. There is plenty to do even without all the extras. Before you go, just prep your kids on what you plan on doing/paying because they will see all the extras around them. My kids had so much fun with what we had planned it was never a problem!
Day passes are available if you want to enjoy the amenities without staying the night.
Make sure to check out the deals. Currently they have a spring fling deal for 30% off your stay! You can find all the details on the website.
If you are traveling with small children, don't forget about the outdoor pool. It has a gradual slope and is quieter than the indoor water park. Perfect place for even young babies to splash and enjoy the water
There are on site food options available but it is also located right next to a Costco. You are welcome to bring outside food in so grab $1.50 hot dogs or a big family sized pizza for an easy meal.
Check out their holiday events. We went during Halloween and they had extra decorations and activities to celebrate!
